Our Story

Made in
Lagos.

A handbag brand born in Lagos, built on craft and an obsession with quality.

Sophia Anthony started in a workshop. Not a boardroom. Just leather, skilled hands, and the belief that Nigerian women deserved bags made for them, by people who look like them.

We were tired of sending money abroad for luxury while our own craftspeople went unnoticed. So we built something here. Something that pays people fairly, uses materials we actually care about, and lasts long enough to be given to someone you love. Every bag we make is a quiet act of pride.

“I wanted to make something my mother would carry and my daughter would want.”

The Standard

The Sophia Anthony

Promise.

Three things guide everything we make. Every bag that leaves our hands carries all of them.

01

Real Leather

We use full-grain leather, chosen by hand for how it feels, how it wears and how it ages. Nothing synthetic. Nothing rushed.

02

Made by Hand

Every bag is hand-stitched by people who have been doing this for years. No machine gets to finish what they start.

03

Designed in Lagos

Born here, built here. Our designs come from Lagos and they look like it. That is not a limitation. It is the whole point.

What We Stand For

01

Make it last.

This is not fast fashion. Every bag we make is meant to be kept for years, not seasons. Build it right or do not build it.

02

Root it in Lagos.

Everything about us comes from here. The materials, the people, the spirit. We are not inspired by Africa. We are African.

03

Earn the price.

Every naira you spend should be felt in your hands. We do not cut corners on the leather, the stitching or the hardware. What you pay for is what you hold.
